Flame Tree Season is one of our favourite times of year at Bliss, and this year we wanted to bottle that feeling into a collection rather than let it pass by unnoticed.
The result is our Flame Tree Collection — four arrangements, each built around a different mood the season brings with it. Here’s the thought process behind each one.
Ember
Ember was our starting point, and in many ways it’s the most literal translation of Flame Tree Season into an arrangement. We built it around sculptural scarlet branches layered with feathery greens, wrapped in deep, glowing tones that echo the trees themselves. It’s dramatic but never overworked — designed to capture that particular hour when the heat of a Dubai summer feels most intense, just before sunset takes over.
After Glow
Where Ember is bold and direct, After Glow is about texture and movement. We paired fiery pincushion protea with sculptural anthuriums and softer seasonal florals in warm citrus and ember tones, letting the arrangement feel wild rather than tightly composed. The idea was to recreate that shimmer of heat you see rising off the city at golden hour — a little hazy, a little alive, never static.
Solstice
Solstice takes the season in a gentler direction. Instead of leaning fully into fire and heat, we wanted an arrangement that captured the softer side of Flame Tree Season — the moment summer settles rather than peaks. Soft orchids and intricate botanicals unfold through layers of coral, flame, cream, and green, catching the light and holding movement in a way that feels more exhale than climax.
Inferno
Inferno is the most expansive piece in the collection, and it was designed to feel almost suspended in time. Cascading scarlet blooms move through airy branching and delicate feathered greens, rich in texture and glowing in fiery red-orange tones. We wanted it to feel both wild and weightless at once — capturing that dreamlike intensity of a Dubai summer held just before sunset, the exact moment the whole city seems to hold its breath.
Why We Built a Collection Around a Season
Flame Tree Season only lasts a few weeks a year, and there’s something special about designing around something so fleeting. Each look in this collection started from the same source — the flame trees themselves — but took a different emotional route from there: drama, texture, softness, and scale. Together, they’re our way of marking a season that Dubai only gets to see once a year, and making sure it doesn’t just pass by unnoticed.
